This is a great mix of books! Yes, Housekeeping is something of a downer. I thought the characters were so interesting but I didn't "get" the book fully.Jeanniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15590153368194137758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2378341340839616704.post-10128573195438505902015-03-17T13:16:23.875+02:002015-03-17T13:16:23.875+02:00Thanks for your comment! Yet, as far as I can recollect, Gilead certainly had its share of sad themes, but it also had a great deal more hope than Housekeeping. But this is not to discourage you from reading it - for all I know, you may be able to get something more out of Housekeeping than I did :) Tuijahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08481881870878118889noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2378341340839616704.post-5201674401772902792015-03-15T23:04:45.884+02:002015-03-15T23:04:45.884+02:00I've been meaning to read On Writing for a lon...I've been meaning to read On Writing for a long time!<br />Gilead is the only novel by Robinson that I've read. It was a tear-jerker. It was full of wisdom, but I definitely cried while I listened to the audiobook and tried to clean the floors. I want to read more of her work, but I think depressing themes might be her specialty!Sarah @ Back to Carolinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16872923498201700713noreply@blogger.com
